A few days ago, I had my annual health check-up, and was very curious to see how my numbers compared to last year. (One quick note is that I started the Dukan diet right after last year's check-up.)
The results:
Height: 5'5
Weight: Lost 7 lbs (125 vs 118 lbs)
Blood pressure: Normal
Cholesterol: Decreased by 29 (169 vs 140)
Triglycerides: Decreased by 15 (102 vs 87)
HDL: Stayed the same (42)
LDL: Decreased by 26 (107 vs 81)
Glucose: Stayed the same (83)
Overall, it seems like I'm healthier today than I was one year ago, which I'm happy about. However, I'm bummed that I gained back a lot of the weight that I lost on the diet. Even though I think 110 lbs is a little too low for me, it's still ingrained in my head as my "dream" number. Realistically, though, I'd like to shoot for 115 lbs.
Sooooo...I think I need to change up my diet in order to get there. I've been pretty lax lately -- today my diet included bagels (Asiago cheese -- my favorite!), white rice, and noodles. Carb overload.
It really is very important to know if we are healthy or not. Usually when we know that we are much healthier now than yesterday we are leaping for joy.
