Checking in

Today's weight: 115 lbs

Total weight lost between May - Sept 2011: 18 lbs
Weight RE-GAINED since Sept 2011: 5 lbs

Wow, it's been a long time since I last blogged...

A couple friends recently asked me about the Dukan diet, so that got me reminiscing. It's been more than a year since I hit my mystical, holy grail, high school weight of 110 pounds (am currently five pounds heavier than that).  I admit that I sometimes feel this illogical need to weigh 110 again -- but I don't think it's really about the weight.  I think it's because I associate that number/weight with certain feelings, memories, people, opportunities, etc -- and that's what I sometimes miss.

However, I am WAY over 18 now, so it's time to face reality, right?  :)

I have to say that of all the diets I've tried, Dukan was the one that worked best for me. I recently did a four-day juice detox and lost a little weight doing that -- but I didn't really experience any of the other positive effects that many have reported (e.g., increased energy, "glowing" skin, improved mental clarity, etc).

"Overall better mood" is also supposed to be a benefit of the juice detox, and I guess I was in a pretty good mood during the detox (aside from Day 1, when I was very crabby from hunger). One ironic thing is that after I had finished the Dukan diet, my sister told me that I was grumpy & mean while on Dukan. I hadn't realized it at the time, but I can see that being true (I really missed eating carbs!)...so I apologize to everyone I was mean to while on the diet...   :)

Good luck to all you Dukaners!
